Things are about to get ‘freaky’ with Bear Creek’s latest musical

On April 4, 5 and 6, Bear Creek Secondary School will present ‘Freaky Friday’, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and hit Disney films.

The show features a cast and band of 30 students who have been rehearsing since the fall. Other students are supporting the technical aspects of the show, including cosmetology, costumes, visual art, sound, lighting, construction and stage crew.

In the show, an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies and have just one day to put things right again. Freaky Friday is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic.

Public performances take place April 4 and 5 at 7 p.m., and April 6 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 and are available at the door. Bear Creek SS is located at 100 Red Oak Drive in Barrie.
