School boards to hold public meetings for education development charges

On Sept. 7, the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) will jointly hold two public meetings. The first public meeting at 6 p.m. will provide an opportunity to review the current education development charge (EDC) policies of both school boards and solicit public input. At 6:15 p.m., the second public meeting is to consider the continued imposition of EDCs and successor by-laws and to inform the public generally about the EDC proposal of each school board.

First meeting - Policy Review Public Meeting

On Oct. 16, the SCDSB and SMCDSB will jointly hold a third public meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to consider the enactment of successor EDC by-laws that will apply in Simcoe County and the cities of Barrie and Orillia.
