Singing in the Rain 2019

Educators experience the benefits of outdoor learning and teaching at ‘Singing in the Rain’
Posted on 04/09/2019

On April 27, educators from Kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to participate in an outdoor education conference that focuses on providing educators from the early years to high school with hands-on, interactive learning experiences designed to connect the Ontario Curriculum with the benefit of learning in nature.

The outdoor education conference will feature hands-on workshops and presentations exploring topics such as mindfulness and mental health, taking your French class outdoors, class campfires and creating a culture of kindness. The full program schedule is available at https://bit.ly/SitRPrograms.

Simcoe County District School Board educators, child care partners, educators from other school boards and other agencies are invited to register online at http://bit.ly/SitRRegistration

Programming is also available for children, aged four to 10, of registered participants. To register your child, visit http://bit.ly/Littleboots

The conference takes place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Springwater Provincial Park, located at 1331 Hwy. 26 in Midhurst. Singing in the Rain aims to be a zero-waste event, so attendees are encouraged to bring their own dishes, cutlery, water bottles and anything else that would normally generate waste.
