Elementary school closure period extended
Posted on 01/08/2021

On January 7, the Ontario government announced an extension to the elementary school closure period in response to COVID-19. As such, all Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) elementary schools will remain closed and elementary students will continue to participate in remote learning until January 22. At this time, students are expected to return to in-person learning on January 25.

SCDSB elementary educators will continue to provide instruction through their established virtual learning platforms and remain committed to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to learn during this extended school closure period.

Parents/guardians of elementary students in special education classes will be contacted by their child’s teacher regarding programming options.

Students currently enrolled in the Learn@Home program will continue to attend class virtually.
