EDC public meeting Oct. 25

Boards to hold public meeting for Education Development Charges
Posted on 09/27/2018
On Oct. 25 the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB) will jointly hold public meetings to consider the enactment of successor education development charge (EDC) by-laws in Simcoe County.

In May and June, the SCDSB and SMCDSB held joint public meetings to review the current EDC policies and to gather public input regarding these policies. As a result of the feedback received, the school boards postponed their decisions regarding EDCs. In September, the boards held a joint information meeting to update the trustees of each Board on the proposed EDC by-laws.

The Boards would appreciate receiving written submissions one week prior to the Public Meetings, so that they may be distributed to Trustees prior to the meetings.
