Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC)

This Committee, which usually meets on the third Monday of every month during the school year, includes representatives and alternates from local associations and three trustees (one of whom must be the trustee representative for Simcoe County's Native communities). "Local association" means an association or organization of parents that operates locally and is affiliated with an association or organization that is incorporated and operates throughout Ontario to further the interests and well-being of one or more groups of exceptional children or adults.

The role of SEAC is to make recommendations to the Board in respect of any matter affecting the establishment, development and delivery of special education programs and services relating to exceptional pupils of the Board. SEAC may advise the Board in a range of policy areas pertaining to special education.

The recommendations of this committee are usually presented to the next regular meeting of the Board for consideration and decision.
