Trustees
Simcoe County public ratepayers elect trustees to a four-year term. The SCDSB is governed by 12 trustees – 11 elected to represent the various municipalities of Simcoe County and one appointed to represent the county's First Nations communities. In addition, three students are appointed to serve as trustees each year.
Board & Committees
Main Board meetings are usually held on the fourth Wednesday of the month. As well, a variety of Board committees help to break down the complexity of our large system. Committees include Program Standing Committee, Facility Standing Committee, Finance Standing Committee, and the Special Education Advisory Committee.

Policies
The Simcoe County District School Board recognizes that policies provide the basis upon which the decisions necessary for the day-to-day operation of the system are made. An established development and review process ensures that policies which clearly reflect the intent of the Board are developed with consistency and thoroughness and are adapted to changing circumstances.
