Uptergrove Public School is a rural school of about 300 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. We believe in high expectations from our students and we encourage excellence in everything that we do.
Our constant goals are that the school is a place of academic excellence, that the school is a safe place, and that it is a place that kids want to come each day.
Our literacy and numeracy scores have improved significantly over the past 5 years and the staff continue to focus on incorporating high yield strategies in their literacy and numeracy instruction.
Technology has been a focus at our school and over the past 2 years the use of technology is becoming consistent in all of our classrooms. Staff and students use hovercams, SMART technology and projectors to enhance their learning and bring the learning into the 21st century.
The school also is the hub of the infamous “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drivethat takes place in the month of December each year. Our goal this year is to push our total of canned food that has been donated over the 1,000,000 mark. This is an example of one of the many initiatives that involve our community partners and build character amongst our students and the school community.
