Parent Involvement Committee
The Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is a county-wide advisory committee. The committee works with SCDSB staff and trustees to support student success through parent engagement.
The PIC helps to build parent engagement within the SCDSB by:
communicating with and supporting school councils
providing information and advice to trustees and SCDSB staff on parent engagement
providing events or information to help parents support their children's learning at home and school
The PIC is made up of parent representatives from across Simcoe County. Parent members have two year terms, with the option of renewing for a second term. The call for members happens each spring or as required.
The committee also includes staff, who are non-voting members, and Trustees, who are appointed to the committee annually by the Board of Trustees.
School council members join the Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) for Connections at the
Education Centre on Oct. 18, 2016.
The PIC meets at least four times per year at the Education Centre in Midhurst.
