Research in the SCDSB
The Research and Evaluation Services staff at the Simcoe County District School Board promote SCDSB student achievement and well-being through research and analysis that informs decision-making, policy and practice. We work together with schools, administrators and research partners to carry out this work. The Simcoe County District School Board participates in both internal and external research activities.
External research is research initiated by persons from outside the Simcoe County District School Board. In order enable external researchers to access to our schools while safeguarding the educational process, applications for conducting external research are evaluated by the Educational Research Advisory Committee. The Committee considers all applications carefully using a number of criteria outlined on the ‘External Research’ page. Guidelines and instructions for conducting research that involves SCDSB schools, staff, students or parents can also be found on this page.
Internal research is research initiated Simcoe County District School Board personnel (e.g., Action Research, TLLP projects, others). If you wish to initiate an internal research project, please log in to the staff website
and follow the instructions for internal research.
