Grade 10 students across Ontario will write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) on April 10. All students who have not successfully completed the OSSLT are eligible to write the test.

A modified timetable and transportation schedule for all Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) high schools is in place for April 10 to accommodate the test administration.

Bus transportation for those students writing the OSSLT remains the same. There will be an additional (later) bus run and pick-up as follows for students who are not writing the OSSLT:

  • For early start schools – the additional (later) run will arrive at your school approximately 4¼ hours later than usual (12:15 p.m.). The additional (later) runs will pick-up students at their regular bus stops 4¼ hours after their regularly scheduled pick-up times. These schools are: Banting Memorial HS, Barrie North Collegiate, Bear Creek SS, Bradford District HS, Eastview SS, Innisdale SS, Nantyr Shores SS, Nottawasaga Pines SS, Orillia SS, Stayner Collegiate Institute and Twin Lakes SS.
  • For late start schools – the additional (later) run will arrive at your school approximately 4¼ hours later than usual (12:45 p.m.). The additional (later) runs will pick-up students at their regular bus stops 4¼ hours after their regularly scheduled pick-up times. These schools are: Collingwood Collegiate Institute, Elmvale District HS and Georgian Bay District SS.

High school bus transportation at the end of the school day will operate as usual for all.

School buses for elementary students are not affected.

Students and parents can learn more about the test and review sample questions on the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) website.
